So what's new?

19 June, 2010

As some of you noticed and mailed me about, the updates to this site are becoming less frequent than they used to be. It's not that I cannot find the time to work the plastic and show some of it here, it's because at the moment I lack the interest to do so.The economical crisis has hit us all hard but thankfully both my wife and I have managed to keep our jobs. So far that is! Like most of you, I need a clear mind to enjoy modeling and I guess the work related worries affects me more than I wished for. Let us hope better times lay ahead and come soon. In the meantime I've started a new project. I'm building the Accurate Armour Chieftain ARRV Mk 7 and plan to paint it in a traditional British green and black camouflage.

My first model this year was completed a while back and you may have already seen the photographs on some of the forums. I've moved the model to the gallery where the photographs can be viewed. Thanks for all the positive feedback I got from all of you!

I've been looking forward to building this T-72 version for a while now. After building the Miniarm T-64B conversion a few years back I was so impressed with their kits I've purchased a few of their other kits as well. This T-72B version with Kontakt 1 protective tiles (T-72B1) has seen action in Chechnya during the 1990's and lately in 2008 these tanks have been used by the Russians and Georgians in the South Ossetia dispute. The T-72B1 is surpassed by tanks such as the T-72BM and the T-90 but it's still very much in widespread use.

VT-34

The last day of the year 2009 has arrived and finally an update of the site. Sorry, I've been very busy with work and other more urgent business which has kept me away from modelling for quite a while. The T-80UM has been abandoned due to a dramatic lack of interest. Painting the model turned into a headache and that was a clear indication to turn my attention to the VT-34. So after a hiatus of 2 months I started where I left of. The model was airbrushed in it's base color so all that was left was a bit of weathering. Just a bit... yeah right. Well, that bit took almost the entire holiday season but it's time well spent I think.
